Hand and Rehabilitation Specialists opened its fifth facility at 1130 North Church Street in Greensboro in November of 2007. This new clinic which specializes in spinal physical therapy is conveniently located near Moses Cone Hospital. Aquatic Physical Therapy (APT) is an integral part of our physical therapy program. APT can minimize gravity; therefore, there is less pain during exercise. Water acts as a support for the patient's weight, therefore, minimizing joint compression on the weight-bearing joints. APT facilitates joint movement with greater ease. There is early movement of surgical sites which facilitates healing. Aquatic Physical Therapy helps reduce swelling and at the same time increases circulation, range of motion, balance, coordination and endurance. In addition, muscle spasms are reduced.
Our Aquatic program is supervised by Kathy Kargo, PT. She received her certification in aquatics in 2004. You now have 5 locations to receive your therapy -- Eden, Asheboro, Reidsville and two in Greensboro. You are not confined to just one location for your treatment; instead, you can have your treatment at the location that is closest to you on the day of treatment. Because we genuinely care about each of our patients, we always strive to work with our patients in arranging treatment times and locations that are most convenient for them.
