DIRECT SERVICES:

  • FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY EVALUATION (FCE) is a whole body evaluation to determine the client's safe maximum level of function. The evaluation measures physical demands using criteria established by the U.S. Department of Labor for material handling and non-material handling activities. This evaluation also identifies and provides clarification of appropriate physical limitations.
  • WORK CAPACITY EVALUATION (WCE) is a comprehensive evaluation of the client's ability to perform a specific job or to perform within an occupational group. The assessment includes a detailed analysis and documentation of all factors specific to the job, including the client's present work tolerances, behaviors (worker traits), and symptom response to work activities.
  • UPPER EXTREMITY EVALUATION (UEE) is an objective assessment of upper extremity function which includes strength/endurance, range of motion, sensibility, dexterity and edema. Data collected compares the injured to the non-injured extremity and to normative data determined by the client's age and gender.
  • WORK CONDITIONING is a custom designed program to restore an individual's cardiovascular and musculoskeletal function. The objective is to enhance the client's physical capacity to return to work or to be physically reconditioned so vocational rehabilitation services can commence.
  • JOB SIMULATION is a work related, goal oriented program which replicates all aspects of a job as realistically as possible. The industrial rehabilitation team adapts current equipment, fabricates new equipment or receives equipment from the client's employer to simulate the components of the job. The client's functional ability in relation to the job requirements is also documented.

Industrial Rehabilitation

Hand & Rehabilitation Specialists’ Industrial Rehabilitation program treats on-the-job injuries such as sprains, fractures, crush injuries, cumulative trauma disorders and back injuries. Our industrial services begin a few days after the injury occurs and progresses to a transition from the injury and its symptoms to the employee's return to work.
