OUR SERVICES INCLUDE:

  • AQUATIC PHYSICAL THERAPY (APT) is an integral part of our physical therapy program for our patients.
  • EVALUATION is required to document treatment effectiveness and must be accurate, reliable and appropriate for the stage of healing. Using objective instruments and methods, testing can include strength, dexterity, muscle function, soft tissue, range of motion, edema, vascularity, sensibility, prosthetic and orthotic needs.
  • SPINAL REHABILITATION is offered as a means to ensure transition from acute injury to return to work with improved function. Physical therapy is offered with the ability to advance to industrial rehabilitation as needed.
  • PAIN MANAGEMENT includes stress and pain reducing techniques which are taught via relaxtion training, creative imagery, and breathing control. Therapeutic massage and myofascial release are also provided with the opportunity to advance to a graduated exercise program. Selective therapeutic modalities are utilized when appropriate.
  • MYOFASCIAL RELEASE consists of a careful posture and soft tissue evaluation followed by gentle pressure applied to reduce fascial restrictions. Myofascial release may be combined with other therapy modalities to reduce pain and improve function.
  • WOUND MANAGEMENT services may include whirlpool, blunt or sharp debridement, suture removal, dressing changes, wound status monitoring, pin care and patient education for home programs. Sterile technique is used when appropriate. Scar Management utilizes controlled pressure techniques using silicone elastomer or gel sheet applied with compression garments.
  • PHYSICAL AGENT MODALITIES are used to control pain, reduce swelling, increase circulation, relax muscles, reduce inflammation, enhance muscle contraction and combat scar adherence. Available modalities include hot pack, fluidotherapy, paraffin wax, whirlpool, contrast baths, ice massage/cold pack, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, TENS, neuromuscular stimulation, iontophoresis, biofeedback and Jobst compression pump.
  • THERAPEUTIC EXERCISE & ACTIVITY is used to regain motion, strength and dexterity. Individualized activities, including BTE work simulator assist restoration of pre-injury lifestyle.
  • EDEMA CONTROL techniques include therapeutic exercise, elevation, compression garments, retrograde massage, electrical stimulation, contrast baths, cold compresses, ice massage and Jobst compression pump.
  • PROSTHETIC services include wound care, stump preparation, prosthetic training and patient education.
